The Ultimate Core-Strengthening Mat Workout. Following in the tradition of founder Joseph Pilates, this class emphasizes strengthening all the deep and superficial muscles of the body; beginning with the ‘core’ abdominal muscles, allowing the body to maintain optimal pain-free movement.   Exercises in this class are all done on the mat, using props to accentuate and challenge the student’s balance and co-ordination.  It is recommended that beginners book a private session to learn the basics before joining a group class.
